In the game of golf a do-over is called a mulligan. In Hollywood film making a do-over is called “take 2." After a bad picture day at school a do-over is called a “re-take!” Have you ever wished you could have a do-over? Maybe you would do over how you treated someone. Perhaps you would do-over something you said. Maybe you would re-do the way you reacted to someone. Maybe you would avoid going somewhere or doing something. If you could have a do-over what would you do over? Unfortunately, in life we don’t get very many “do overs”. We often have to live with the positive and negative consequences of our choices, actions and behaviors. Thankfully, God is one who is always willing to forgive us when we mess up. When we sin, he is willing to forgive us and offers us the chance to try again. Read 1 John 1:9
Talk about a time when you were a kid and you wished you could have a do-over.
Tell your child that you are interested in helping them learn to make wise choices in life.
Say a prayer and thank God for offering us forgiveness when we confess our sins to Him.
